Ever wondered how durable your smartphone is against dust and liquid? The IP rating of your phone will tell you all about this. IP stands for Ingress Protection and it’s a standard that mobile manufacturers use to denote the level of protection their products offer against physical shock, liquid, or dust.

This standard is denoted by using the letters ‘I’, ‘P’ followed by two numbers signifying the code of the protection provided. Hence, the IP68 rating refers to smartphones that offer all-round protection against dust and are protected against long periods of immersion under pressure. 

IP68 and IP67 have become a standard for newcomers, let’s take a look at some smartphones that carry such ratings and offer a heavy resistance against water and dust. 

iPhone 11 Pro Max

iPhone 11 Pro Max possesses the sturdy Apple build and is able to withstand a plunge in 14 meters of water for half an hour.  

Google Pixel 3XL

HTC is not quite popular in India but in Europe and North America, it is admired for the qualities of toughness and robustness. HTC U12+’s plastic casing delivers an IP rating of IP68.

Blackberry Motion is the perfect mix of a strong aluminum frame and the tight binding of a soft-grip textured back. This smartphone is IP68-rated.
